Chloe Zernicke, Bonduel 8th grader died in ATV accident on May 15

On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding an All-Terrain vehicle accident involving Chloe Zernicke, an eighth-grader attending St. Paul school. The incident occurred in the vicinity of Two Creek Road and Landstad Road. A considerable number of emergency medical services personnel and law enforcement officers were dispatched to the location. The initial complainant stated that a 13-year-old female was found in an unresponsive and comatose state subsequent to the collision.

Police Investigation

A cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) procedure was being carried out on Zernicke at the time the authorities arrive. When first responders from Navarino-Lessor Emergency Medical Services and NEW Ambulance arrived at the scene, they requested that ThedaStar Helicopter also accompany them to the scene of the event. It took the combined efforts of many personnel to carry out the procedures that saved Zernicke’s life. It was determined that Chloe Zernicke had passed away at the scene of the incident due to the injuries that she had sustained as a consequence of the incident.

One witness that was at the scene explained to police authorities the details surrounding the tragedy. Everyone involved, including Chloe’s parents, cooperated with police authorities. The Wisconsin DNR is leading the main investigation into this crash, and no other information will be shared at this time. According to the Shawano Sheriff’s Office, no names will be released in order to respect the privacy of all individuals involved, especially the Zernicke family.

Chloe Zernicke Funeral Arrangement

Chloe had obtained enrollment as a student at the Bonduel Village. This incident was reported to the School Resource Officer, who coordinated with all Bonduel Village schools to ensure that every pupil and staff member had access to supplementary services and support.
